It is impossible to think of reaching sustainable cities and communities in harmony unless we change to improve the way we have managed the construction of cities and their management.

Making cities safe and sustainable means ensuring access to safe and affordable housing, and upgrading slum settlements. It also involves investment in public transport, creating green public spaces, and improving urban planning and management in a way that is both participatory and inclusive.

We are capable of taking responsibility for building the cities we want by putting human dignity at the center of the goals of the raison d'être of large cities. In ruins the buildings will be without people who inhabit them. Parks will be useless without the laughter and freedom of our children. Mobility should be available to everyone, as well as access to water and care for it. We are much more than cars, concrete, violence and economic activity. Let's open our minds to bring the best of ourselves in our space and leave the best possible footprint for future generations. Sharpen the pencils to create: I, Metropoli.
