International Art Competitions - art contest for artists

CUVO
is an itinerant festival and its intention is to provide artists with an opportunity to disseminate them proposals in a specific place as well as traveling, thus facilitating the understanding by the public of video art.

It will consist in a selection of 8 videos that are going to be shown in Art Room gallery in Madrid, museums, publics squares, theaters among other places all long 2019.

The theme of this edition of the CUVO festival is “Viral Camera”, for this reason it is requested that the proposals are linked or related in some way with this idea. There are no limitations of the conceptual or experimental type, the call is open to any type of video work and image-sound based works that seem impressive or innovative as experience.

Specifications of the conditions of the videos:
-We only accept one video per artist or group.
-The works cannot have been made before January 1st, 2017.
-The works can have been shown at other festivals or videoart’s events, but in the case of being
chosen, the work have to be removed from the internet platforms while the itinerant display
CUVO 2019 is still current, except from the personal website.
-Its recommended to send videos of not more than 5 minutes, and under no circumstance will
be accepted videos above 7 minutes.
-We accept works at any language, but if the dialogs or texts are other than Spanish, we require
the addition of subtitles (Spanish).
-Under no circumstance we will accept any work away from the artistic criteria or one that
infringes in some way the current Spanish legislation or the Universal Declaration of the Human
Rights. Any work failing to comply with this, will be discarded. Following this statement, the legal
responsibility of any video, will fall on the authors themselves and never on the “CUVO” Festival
or the staff.
-The videos have to be original. Also, the video artists, or the group presenting a work, have to
be in possession of the copy right of the video and the sound.
-Managers, curators or any person related to the festival are not responsable of the truthfulness
of the information provided by the participants. In case of any problem related in some way with
the audio-visual rights, please contact us on the mail mentioned before.

The 12TH edition of One World International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will take place in Prague, March 6 – 17, 2019,
followed by regional screenings in over 30 towns around the Czech Republic and Brussels.
We would like to invite you to submit your film to the 21th edition of the festival. One World has grown over the years to become the largest human rights film festival in the world. It is one of the leading cultural events in Prague and the Czech Republic.

Submitted films need to meet these criteria:

feature or mid-length (minimum length 40 minutes) documentary films
short documentary or animated films for children – films for Docs for Kids category only
virtuality reality documentary
provided with English subtitles or English-spoken films
films made in last 2 years (2017 - 2019)

Alchemy Film & Moving Image Festival is an international festival of experimental film and artists’ moving image. Submissions of artists’ and experimental film from any part of the world are welcome – we celebrate a diverse range of works: the visually experimental, quietly poetic, formally radical, psycho-geographical, politically activist, culturally subversive, psycho-spiritual, the alchemically volatile, the underground and the bizarre. Conventional or commercial-style narrative dramas, animations and documentaries are less likely to be successful – unless they are truly original in form and content.

For 2019, we will be paying screening fees of £20 to participating artists for each selected work.

Works made between 2017 and 2019 will be prioritised by our reviewers.

We are open to submissions of any subject matter.

Entry fee: earlybird entry fee of just £5(approx $7/€6) for each submission before 30th September 2018. For entries recieved after that date, the fee is £8 per entry.

The Jean-Claude Reynal Foundation, under the auspices of the Fondation de France, in collaboration with the Fine Arts School of Bordeaux, offers an annual grant of 10,000 euros to enable a young artist, who works on paper, to travel to a country of his/her choice for a period of 3 months minimum and 6 months maximum.

Candidates must be between 20 and 30 years of age and have had an artistic practice on paper for at least two years.

50% of the scholarship money will be paid before departure, and 50% at the time and place of the residency.

The selected artists will have to send three original works on paper (drawings or prints of all kinds), the dimensions must not exceed 40 × 60 cm (15-¾ × 23-⅝ in.).

The Japanese-German Center Berlin (Japanisch-Deutsches Zentrum Berlin, JDZB) invites artists living in Germany or Europe to submit a joint exhibition proposal, which will be presented in 2019 in the JDZB's events gallery surrounding its atrium.
s. The JDZB would like to primarily offer this opportunity to exhibit in Berlin to up-and-coming artists who have their roots in Japan and in Germany and/or in other countries.

Works can be in the mediums of painting, photography, video art, sculpture or installations.

TERMS OF THE RESIDENCY
> 1 opportunity for a 7-day residency is available for each resident, between February and April 2019 (choice
of the week to be decided between thankyouforcoming and the selected candidates).
> thankyouforcoming provides a 40m2 fully equipped apartment in the center of Nice (port area).
> Return travel expenses refunded (subject to the provision of receipts) up to EUR 250 for each residency.
> A total grant of EUR 150 is offered for 7 days.
> We are at the disposal of the resident, before and during the residency period, to facilitate contacts and
organise visits and meetings with artists, institutions, curators, collectors, galleries, museums etc. on the
French Riviera (Nice, Monaco, Mouans-Sartoux, Antibes, Cannes, Vence etc).
The resident is committed to respect the agreed schedule with thankyouforcoming.
> The resident is requested to propose a public event during his or her stay. Designed in advance of the
residency, it will be developed with the support (intellectual, logistical and financial) of thankyouforcoming.
The shape of this event is open, examples include: a reading session, lecture, presentation of research in
progress, exhibition, walk, screening session etc. The content and the form of this public event should be
defined with and approved by thankyouforcoming at least 60 days prior to the residency period.
A record of the residency and this event in particular will be posted on our website.
Fee: 150€ VAT, subject to the provision of invoice.
> If he or she wants to, the resident is also given the opportunity to be guest of the program « Coming
together » (« Provoquer la rencontre ») of DEL’ART association, a 2 hour-long meeting and experience
sharing dedicated to art students and young artists. Fee: 100€ VAT, subject to the provision of invoice.
