Purpose of the Festival
Presentation of trendsetting, ambitious, auteur cinema. The Festival presents a cinema showing independent and bold content, taking up substantial and original subjects, seeking to establish cultural bridges between different regions—geographical as well as social. The Festival discovers talented young artists, both Polish and foreign, and extensively promotes their films. The Festival is open to artists from all over the world.
The Festival holds four competitions:
ON AIR International Feature Film Competition. The competition is intended for first and second films of directors. Accepted are films that were made in 2015 or 2016. Priority in selection is given to premiere films (i.e. those that were not presented in Poland at any festival held before the 14th edition of the Festival).
SHORTCUT International Short Film Competition. The competition is intended for short documentaries, animations, experimental and short-feature films, no longer than 35 minutes. Priority in selection is given to premiere films (i.e. those that were not presented in Poland at any festival held before the 14th edition of the Festival).
FROM POLAND Polish competition. The competition is intended for feature films, documentaries and animations made in Poland or with the Polish co-production in 2015 or 2016. Priority in selection is given to films outside regular distribution in cinemas.
LOCALIZATIONS Regional Film Competition. The competition is intended for feature films, documentaries, animations and experimental films made in 2015 or 2016 in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie region or with the participation of regional artists. In exceptional circumstances the Festival can select films made before 2015.
