Weeklong residency in Chile

SACO Contemporary Art Festival is held annually in the region of Antofagasta in northern Chile, as an independent initiative of the Collective SALE Mobile Platform Contemporary Art, under the direction of Dagmara Wyskiel and production of Christian Nunez. Aims to establish a permanent core of reflection, criticism and dialogue through the work in the territory marked by the absence of institutions dedicated to pursuing these purposes. The world capital of copper mining, proposed as an alternative to deepen excavations no less valuable or less urgent and renewable wealth - creativity and dialogue.

The 9th edition of the Contemporary Art Festival invites artists to participate in the open call for its main exhibition entitled Now or Never. The selected artists will take part in a weeklong residence at ISLA, Latin American Superior Art Institute, with all expenses paid, for the realization and installation of their works. After the opening, they will participate in an immersion trip within the territory, into the interior of the Atacama Desert.

Visual artists of any nationality may participate.

No entry fee

Residency offers:
-all travel costs are covered
- accomodation
- food
- A maximum of U$ 1.500 (one thousand five hundred U.S. dollars) is budgeted for
each intervention
- trip to Atacama Desert
