Deadline: 26 January 2020The International Image Festival (FINI), organized by the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo, is a multidisciplinary encounter to promote and appreciate the artistic creation and visual communication in a space of reflection and debate about aesthetics and the meaning and value of images in their different genres, expressions, and applications.
The Tenth Edition of FINI will take place on April 24-30, 2020, in the city of Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo, having as main topic Water.
The International Image Contest aims to recognize, promote, encourage and diffuse the works, in different genres, expressions and uses of image, of Mexican and foreign creators. The Call for entries is addressed to students and professionals of the image in the genres of Photography, Alternative Techniques, Poster and Documentary Film. The proposals will be examined by a Jury integrated by individuals with great national and international recognition.
FINI 2020 will have as main topic Water, therefore, the registered works must show the relevance of this topic from a biological, philosophical, political, economic, social, or cultural perspective.
Your participation in the International Image Contest will contribute to generating a reflection and raise awareness on the use of this vital liquid.
Genres:
a. Photography (analog and digital)
b. Alternative techniques (graphics or digital stamp, photomontage or
collage)
c. Documentary (full-length film and short film)
d. Poster (free technique)

The Works submitted for this contest should have been made within the five previous years to the closing of this Call for Entries.
No entry fee
Prizes:
a) In the category of Professionals, for each genre named before, the first
place will get a prize of $85,000.00 (eighty five thousand Mexican pesos).
If the winner is a person who lives outside Mexico, the prize must not
exceed $4,500.00 USD (four thousand and five hundred USD) according
to the currency exchange at the time.
b) The second place in the category of professionals will get a prize of
$47,000.00 (forty seven thousand Mexican pesos). If the winner is a
person who lives outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed $2,500.00
USD (two thousand and five hundred USD) according to the currency
exchange at the time.
c) The third place in the category of professionals will get a prize of
$28,000.00 (twenty eight thousand Mexican pesos). If the winner is a
person who lives outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed $1,500.00
USD (one thousand and five hundred USD) according to the currency
exchange at the time.
d) In the category of Students, for each genre of the Contest, the first place
will get a prize of $42,000.00 (forty two thousand Mexican pesos).
If the winner is a person who lives outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed
$2,200.00 USD (two thousand and two hundred USD).
e) The second place in the category of Students will get a prize of $23,000.00
(twenty three thousand Mexican pesos). If the winner is a person who
lives outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed $1,200.00 USD (one
thousand and two hundred USD).
f) The third place in the category of Students will get a prize of $14,000.00
(fourteen thousand Mexican pesos). If the winner is a person who lives
outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed $750.00 USD (seven hundred
and fifty USD).
2. For the POSTER genre there will be only one prize for each category:
a) For the category of Professionals, the winner will get a prize of $85,000.00
(eighty five thousand Mexican pesos). If the winner is a person who lives
outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed $4,500.00 USD (four thousand
and five hundred USD).
b) For the category of Students, the winner will get a prize of $42,000.00
(forty two thousand Mexican pesos). If the winner is a person who lives
outside Mexico, the prize must not exceed $2,200.00 USD (two thousand
and two hundred USD).
