The world’s first moving images were shot in Leeds in 1888 by Louis le Prince. Today Leeds is a major centre for film production and exhibition. Leeds International Film Festival is one of the UK’s biggest film events.

LIFF is a portal for discovery of the real world of filmmaking that exists beyond regular film exhibition. LIFF primarily supports outstanding new talent and established talent that has not received deserved exposure in the UK. LIFF considers narrative, documentary and animated films, in feature-length and short formats, in multiple genres and from all countries.

We are now welcoming entries for LIFF30 with new, earlier deadlines for 2016: early-bird 1st April, regular 1st July, and final 1st August.


The Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF) is one of the UK's biggest film events and the largest in England after London.

The 30 anniversary edition of Leeds International Film Festival will take place 3–17 November 2016.

Any genre and any length of film will be considered – anything under 45 minutes is classified as a short, anything over 45 minutes is classified as a feature.

Only films completed after 1st January 2015 will be considered for the competitive sections.

Morisawa Type Design Competition has been giving birth to a new typeface design for decades from the first competition was held in 1984.

Through entries with bold ideas and new attempts in anticipation with unprecedented expressive capacity, the recent competitions held in 2012 and 2014 have received more than 1,000 entries sent from over 20 countries and regions, including both Kanji and Latin category.

The Circle of Light Moscow international festival is an annual event at which lighting designers and specialists in audiovisual art from various countries reinvent the architectural scene of Moscow by using video mapping. The buildings that symbolize Russia – among them are: the Bolshoi Theatre, the Moscow Manege, the Moscow State University, VDNKh, and others – transform into canvases for large colorful video projections. The admission to all festival venues is free.

The Art Vision video mapping contest runs under the aegis of the Circle of Light festival. It is divided into three nominations:


classic -ART VISION (Classic Architectural Projection Mapping Competition)is an International contest of 2D or 3D mapping projections on a facade of buildings playing up its geometry and architecture. This year the Venue for ART VISION Classic Competition will be the facade of Bolshoi Theater. Russian and International students, creative teams, design studios, etc may enter the Competition.

modern - (Contemporary Art Projection Mapping Competition) is an International contest of 2D or 3D mapping projections on a facade of buildings playing up its geometry and architecture. This year the Venue of ART VISION Modern will be the facade of Manege on the Red Square. Russian and International students, creative teams, design studios, etc may enter the Competition.


vjing - ART VISION VJING (VJs Competition) is an International contest of VJs playing 10 minute VJ sets using the prepared video content and accompanied by a live DJ set. This year the Venue of ART VISION VJing will be Izvestiya Hall. Russian and International students, creative teams, design studios, etc may enter the Competition.

The INNSBRUCK NATURE FILM FESTIVAL is an international nature film competition, offering motivated filmmakers a platform for presenting their latest work. Four film festival days with film presentations and a high-quality side program are the framework for an on-topic, ecological, and artistic discourse.

There are 6 categories:


DOCUMENTARIES:
Environment: documentaries about environmental protection/issues and/or with a focus on global topics.
Nature: documentaries about nature, ecologic phenomenons, animal, plants and bionomics.

SHORTS:
Shorts: short movies and clips up to a length of 20 minutes.
Animations: animations and animated clips up to a length of 20 minutes.

YOUNG TALENTS:
< 19 years: movies of any genre up to a length of 20 minutes, age of the director at the time of production: under 19 years.

The International Exlibris Competition Varna is open for artists from all over the world, without limitation of education and occupation, aged 16 years or more, who accept its rules. There are no restrictions as to the themes or techniques used.

The work shall be printed on paper not larger than 290 mm x 210 mm; the image (engraved part) shall not exceed the size of 150 x 150 mm. The following words have to appear in all the works: “Ex libris”, “Bookplate” or some other similar expression (e.g. “From the library of...”), besides the name of the person or institution the work has been designed for. The bookplates are to have (under the image) the author’s signature, year of creation, technique and title (if the work has such), print number or “edition of author” abbreviation - E/A, A/P.

Participants are allowed to send maximum 5 (five) different bookplates, each of them in three signed copies. The works shall be created in the years 2014-2016. Art works presented in previous Exlibris Competition Varna shall not be accepted. The submitted art works will not be returned and will remain property of the graphic collection of the organizer of the event: Largo Art Gallery.

No limitations exist regarding the printmaking techniques. In addition to traditional printmaking techniques, computer designs shall also be accepted, providing that works of art are made in limited total print. Photocopies, drawings or sketches shall not be accepted.

International Film Festival UP TO 21 are open to all filmmakers who are 21 years old or under at the time of completing their film.

The festival was founded in 1983,on the initiative of the Federation of Independent Filmmakers and gained recognition in the environment of young filmmakers.

The Festival furthers the art and craft of filmmaking by inspiring and championing the work of filmmakers, and all artists who use the language of film and television to tell a story.


Submissions are open to all filmmakers who are 21 years old or under at the time of completing their film.

The submitted films should have been completed after 1st January 2014.

The Festival is international and open to film submissions from Poland and abroad.

We accept all movie-making techniques and genres, submitted on DVD or miniDV in a format working on a stationary DVD player.

The competition is open to any person practicing art, either as a full-time or part-time professional or student, or as a self-taught artist from anywhere in the world. There is no age limit for applicants and the prize is open to all artists whatever their qualifications, with or without experience of public or private exhibitions. The prize encourages participation by artists at every level.

Artists are encouraged to present works which investigate relevant social, political, economic or personal themes today. Projects can include up to 10 works in a mixture of media such as installation alongside video and photography, or in any one media, for example a photographic series or a series of paintings. Each project must consider a maximum exhibition area of 6x6metres and the use of 6 linear-metre wall space. 3 Projects will be selected for the final exhibition by the chief-juror of the prize, Ellen Blumenstein.

PAINTING & DRAWINGS PRIZE, 4,000 €*
Media accepted: oil, acrylic, vinyl, watercolor, graphite, pencil, ink, illustrations, printing in its various forms, etc. The work can have any form of support: canvas, paper, cardboard, wood, plastic, metal, glass, etc. Diptychs or triptychs are considered one work. There is no limit to the size of works accepted. 10 Works will be selected for the final exhibition by the ‘Painting & Drawing’ jury.

PHOTOGRAPHY & DIGITAL GRAPHICS PRIZE, 4,000 €*
Media accepted: digital or analogue photography; computer graphic modeling; net/web art and software art presented in a 2D format; works in which several media are used, for example digital manipulations which include the use of painting or other forms of manual expression, collages, polaroids, mobile phone photographs, etc. Diptychs or triptychs are considered one work. There is no limit to the size of works accepted. 10 Works will be selected for the final exhibition by the ‘Photography & Digital Graphics’ jury.

VIDEO & ANIMATION PRIZE, 4,000 €*
Media accepted for the video and animation: video, short film, time lapse, stop motion, any kind of animation 2d and 3d, any kind of combination between video, film and photography in motion (see video Art. 5. (B), for video formats). 10 Works will be selected for the final exhibition by the ‘Video & Animation’ jury.

INSTALLATION, SCULPTURE & PERFORMANCE PRIZE, 4,000 €*
Installation works of any nature in any material, video installation, multimedia or multidisciplinary installation; sculpture – all materials are accepted (organic or inorganic); net/web art and software art presented in a 3D format with or without web streaming; works with an interactive basis and/or connection to electricity, motorization, light, sound art or video installation. Any kind of human or interactive performance, which may or may not include the use of any form of software and hardware. Live Media audiovisual performances can either be projected on screens or presented as a live audiovisual performance, sound art and all forms of participatory art. There is no limit to the size of works accepted. For finalist works, it might be necessary to adapt them to site-specific necessities. 10 Works will be selected for the final exhibition by the ‘Installation, Sculpture & Performance’ jury.

NEW - SUPER-YOUNG PRIZE, 3,000 €*
Super-Young is a new prize launched this year to promote artwork by artists under 26 years old. Entrants can be students or not, from art school, secondary school, university, academy or art courses, or be artists working outside education. Works can be submitted in any media such as painting, photography, drawing, installation, sculpture, video, performance or any other artistic crossover or derivative. 10 Works will be selected for the final exhibition by the chief-juror, Ellen Blumenstein. Entry to the final exhibition will be subject to verification by Celeste staff who will be requesting documentary proof of age (only artists 25 years old or younger on the date 9 February 2016 - date of publication of these Terms & Conditions - can apply) to confirm admission to the final in London.

The competition funded by Warsteiner brewery offers young artists from all around the world the possibility to gain a foothold in the international art market.


Visual arts, Design, Urban art or Video – the artistic potential has no limitations at BLOOOM Award by WARSTEINER. We are looking for artists who knowingly work at the interfaces between art and creative industries, whose works blur boundaries of traditional forms of expression.

The comix competition Nouveau talent BDFIL 2016 is open anyone over the age of 15 domiciled in Switzerland or abroad and whose work has never been published in the form of an album or regularly in a large-circulation newspaper or magazine. Each participant may enter one project only. As the competition aims to encourage and recompense complete artists, collective entries will not be accepted. Winners of previous competitions, with the exception of ‘special mentions’, are not allowed to re-enter.

Every project should present a complete story, on one board, with or without text, and be closely connected with the theme of the competition: “Migration(s)”. This theme may be freely interpreted. Every project should be presented on a plate in the A3 format (29.7 x 42 cm maximum) and in the French format (vertical)

Renaissance Photography Prize is an international award that showcases outstanding photography from emerging and established photographers while raising funds to support young women with breast cancer. The prize is open to all.

Photographers can enter single images and/or series of work. The competition is open to everyone and welcomes entries from all countries. All profit from entry fees is donated to The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care, UK, a charity that supports younger women affected by the disease. Currently, one third of the Lavender Trust’s annual funding comes from the Renaissance Photography Prize.
