Art residency in Ukraine

Deadline: 17 July 2019

Dream Projects with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation announces an  International Artist Residency Open Call within the framework of the SOUND iD Project, dedicated to the audiovisual heritage of Volodymyr Perzhylo – an audio missionare, ethnographer and folklorist, who devoted himself to the research and preservation of national traditions on the territory of modern Ukraine and beyond.

Between 1970-1990 he carried out several ethno-expeditions, from Lemkivshchyna to Slobozhanshchyna, to create for future generations an archive with unique examples of public history – audio and video recordings of meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora, separated with the borders and scattered around the world.

The SOUND iD Project is aimed to unite the efforts of media artists and researchers in various humanities to find new ways of presenting Volodymyr Perzhilo's ethnographic heritage through contemporary art.

We invite artists, researchers, thinkers and practitioners of all related disciplines to come to Ukraine to work at the intersection of interactive new media art and heritage.

We are looking for applications from Belarus, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine.
