L’Alternativa, Barcelona Independent Film Festival, celebrates its 26th edition in 2019. For 26 years we’ve been offering filmgoers, filmmakers and industry professionals a unique opportunity to discover and enjoy screenings and activities that value creative freedom, diversity, innovation, commitment and thought-provoking reflection.

The Call for entries for the next edition is now open!
International and national competition for feature and short films, including fiction, non fiction, animation and experimental.

All films submitted for selection must have been completed after 1 January 2018.

With the exception of films with English, Spanish or Catalan dialogue or text, all preview copies (online screeners) must include English subtitles.

L'Alternativa Official
International Feature Film (fiction, nonfiction, animation, experimental).
International Short Film (fiction, nonfiction, animation, experimental) with a maximum running time of 40 minutes.
Panorama Spanish Feature and Short Film (fiction, nonfiction, animation, experimental) with a maximum running time of 40 minutes for short films.
