The programme is aimed at international artists whose work relates to the historical disciplines represented at the Bauhaus and the subsequent developments of these core disciplines – among them painting, product design, textile design, music, theatre, performance, architecture and photography.

The Bauhaus Residency comprises three different possibilities for participation: an Open Call, which is addressed to artists who are part of an artist collective and which is hosted by the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation together with the GfZk – Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig; a group of invited artists and authors; and a Shared Residency for young musicians with the Kurt Weil Fest GmbH.


The Open Call is aimed at artists working collectively (2 to a maximum of 5 people). Of particular interest are works that engage and reflect on social contexts in novel ways as well as other approaches to modernity. In the spirit of the programme’s emphasis on the fictional (that is, the shaped, formed and invented), the main focus will be on a critical examination of the working process itself. Therefore, we are looking for innovative ways of presenting the processes of art making and development. A connection to the 2020 theme of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation: “Habitat” is desirable. “Habitat” conceives of habitation as a cultural practice, thus distancing itself from modernist understandings of housing as a universally applicable ‘living machine.’

founded in 2015 by a team of interdisciplinary minds with backgrounds in various fields and the
common desire to share their curiosities and develop beyond the scope of their fields.
To date, bang. Prix has provided the support and mentorship to 57 participants in the
development of their projects, showcasing them to thousands of audiences in 13 exhibitions in
Turkey and abroad. In its fourth year, bang. Prix is expanding beyond support for project-based
development and exhibitions as a platform that supports practitioners from different disciplines
and countries to develop themselves at the nexus of art, technology, design and science.

You are invited to apply and participate in the ”Artistic Research Residency Programme Iran-Europe” on the topic of Industrial Heritage or Living Archives, involving artists in the de-mining of sensitive heritage issues.

For the fourth 店面 Residency, we are calling for individual artists or a pair of artistic collaborators to create a window display for the storefront at 26 Mott Street in New York City in celebration of the lunar new year and the year of the rat.

This is a funded 6-month residency runs from September 1, 2019 to February 31, 2020. There are no restrictions on artists’ mediums, age, nationality, ethnicity, gender, or any other criteria. Visual artists, writers, poets, activists, filmmakers, curators, designers, architects, makers & tinkerers and more are all invited to apply. This module aims to reflect on the notion of the ritual, its current meaning and practice. In the last years many disciplines (religion studies, anthropology, philosophy, art, socio-biology) have approached the ritualistic and its role in making ‘visible’ a certain order in a specific context, in showing ‘the proven way of doing something’ which is the etymology of the word. As Catherine Bell says, ritualization is “a way of acting that is designed and orchestrated to distinguish and privilege what is being done in comparison to other, usually more quotidian, activities”.


UNIDEE is the higher educational programme for art and social change of Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto. Weaving together moments of interdisciplinary research, knowledge sharing and practical activities, the objective of the programme is to provide the participants with inspiration, motivation and instruments to activate or develop artistic initiatives based on the engagement of local ecologies. Open to artists and professionals from all over the world through residential dynamics, the programme intends to form “artivators”, i.e. people working at the boundaries between artistic practices, processes of social change and collaborations with communities outside the art world.

Summer school for architects, designers and filmmakers

The summer school "Hjemme i Skagen / At Home in Skagen" is a week's intensive workshop with a focus on the town's architecture and a special focus on spatial design within the homes of Skagen.

The home is orchestrated and spoken of as never before in the media. But what is a home in a small Danish town and what does it mean to be at home in Skagen? Together we will explore ten homes in Skagen and add our own spatial interventions to emphasize our findings of what exactly makes these buildings and rooms a home.


Participants will work individually or in groups to sketch, map, create installations, spatial interventions and short films.

WORKSHOP // To kick off the workshop week we will experience the architectural history of Skagen on bikes and briefly discuss conservation, tradition and renewal with local architects. Professor of anthropology Kirsten Marie Raahauge will introduce the participants to the cultural background of the “home”. What is a home and what does it mean to be a home in Skagen? Each participant will be invited inside a home. From an apartment in Mosegården to a villa on Østre Strandvej. A rowhouse on Hans Baghs vej to a detached house in the ’Bird neighborhood’. Ten examples of homes in Skagen created in the city's various architecture and filled with a personal interior by families with different backgrounds and everyday life. Small and large homes, new and old homes, home to the many, home to the few. Where are we at home and how do we create a home? Guided by designer Tine Kjølsen participants will investigate this and more in the specific homes through fieldwork, mapping exercises and conversations with the families.

Hereafter the participants will each build a design object that will focus on the homeliness of each home under the guidance of architect Isabel Ahm and cabinet maker Signe Lund. Everyone will have to understand the architecture of the building, the personal decor and the family's background and everyday life in order to produce a physical object that represents the essence of the home, it can be a piece of furniture, a small design object, a decorative item or something else that emphasizes what exactly makes this building or these rooms a home.

FILMS // The projects will be documented as short films, and the films will be shown in a combined program in the cinema at Kulturhuset in Skagen at a free premiere - open to all. Afterwards the films together with the design objects will be exhibited in the small building at Banegårdspladsen in Skagen for two months and will be published online at the association’s website and other relevant platforms such as Architecture Player.

PLAN8T Artist / Architect In Residence (P8AIR) is a cross-disciplinary and cross-media exchange platform, aims to engage conversation in symbiosis of industrial technology, nature and society with innovative and experimental mindsets. We encourage artists and architects to challenge their own work and practices in connection to the surroundings and responsible technology to prototype model, inspiration and presentation for future sustainable living.  PLAN8T AIR program is located in Changsha, Hunan, China.  PLAN8T (P8) is a vertical community focuses on innovation and sustainability. The community is situated inside Broadtown, a 1 square meter technology park and over 70% preserved wetland contains buzzing industrial factory, organic farm and a pyramid exhibition center.

72 Hour Urban Action is the world's first real-time architectural competition where international teams design, build, sleep and party together to generate public interventions in a limited space within a short time and on a tight budget.

Call For Vaa Nida Art Colony Residency Applications For 2017-2018 And The 7th Inter-Format Symposium Along Lines

The residency programme at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts (NAC) is open for emerging and experienced artists, designers, architects, curators and researchers. NAC is the biggest art, residency and education venue in the Baltic region that provides the opportunity to live and work in the Curonian Spit National Park. Since 2011, when the A-I-R programme was launched, about 300 artists and other culture professionals have stayed at the Colony.

Professional workshops and support, well-equipped spaces, and artists’ community all year round. Artists and scholars who seek a quiet and spacious environment are welcome to experience a distinctive remote location and use the Colony’s new spaces. Production of art or design works is facilitated by new professional equipment. If you wish to organise an exhibition in Nida, Klaipeda, Kaunas and Vilnius, we can put you in touch with local galleries.

The atmosphere and life intensity d epends on the season and programme of the Colony. There are between 7 and 70 people staying at NAC at all times. In summer Nida becomes a busy (albeit not overcrowded) resort. Throughout September and partly May and June you will share the common spaces with art, architecture and design students and their professors. During August you will be accompanied by doctoral researchers and Nida Doctoral School. From October to April you will enjoy solitude, occasionally accented by art professionals or students arriving to the Colony for workshops.
Living and social conditions are provided to ensure a comfortable environment. Each of the five residencies occupies two floors with 65 square meters of floor space and is equipped with all the necessary facilities.

NAC call for Individual residency applications

Grants and costs: No grants are currently a vailable; selected candidates are issued a letter of support for individual grant seeking. Studio and living space rent for selected residents costs 400€ per month, including all taxes, use of equipment, Wi-Fi, communal spaces and bicycles.
Educational opportunity: NAC encourages its residents to give a workshop at local high school or art school in September-December 2017 in exchange of the ~200 EUR fee.

Call for participants for the 7th Inter-format Symposium Along Lines

May 19-22, 2017
Confirmed artists/speakers/performers: Awst & Walther (UK/DE), Zbyněk Baladrán (CZ), Vitalij Červiakov (LT), Nikolaus Gansterer (AT), Morten Norbye Halvorsen (NO), Lina Lapelytė (LT), Karen O’Rourke (FR/USA), Marcus Steinweg (DE), Jessica Warboys (UK) and others.

The symposium brings together around 40 professionals (artists, musicians, philosophers, scientists, archaeologists, and other researchers) to reflect on the line as a very basic visual element and medium of knowledge. Taking i t as a symbolic as well as analytical instrument the symposium presents different strategies to sketch and connect through methods of mapping, walking, recording etc. Full concept & application details.
