we invite all artists to participate in RU's fifth annual Residency Raffle to win a fantastic month long residency opportunity hosted by two partnering organizations in Serbia: REMONT Gallery and Gola Glava (Naked Head). Suggested dates for this residency are May through October 2019.

ABOUT THE RESIDENCY
-Suggested dates of residency are May through October 2019.
-RU will cover round trip airfare costs to Belgrade from wherever the winning artist is located.
-RU will cover the accommodation expenses on site in Gola Glava and in the center of Belgrade.
-The artist will receive a $300 stipend.
-In Gola Glava, the artist will live and work for 3 weeks in an authentic Serbian house in the countryside surrounded by a beautiful garden and a pool.
-Besides free accommodation, food expenses will be covered with access to the organic garden and fresh spring water.
-The finalist will be offered a public program at REMONT Gallery to present his/her/their practice to representatives of Belgrade's vibrant contemporary art scene.

The general topic of the 2019 competition is free but one of the main awards is intended for an entry with CHILDREN as topic.
Everyone living anywhere in the world and aged over 18 can submit his/her prints. Prints from woodcuts to digital prints and almost all types of fine graphic printmaking techniques are allowed.
4 only original small impressions from a set print run like bookplates or other types of prints are allowed.

We are looking for contemporary practitioners that will demonstrate a
genuine interest in the social context of Athens and who can engage with
it critically by challenging social norms and taboos.
We are looking for creative practitioners who will be open to collaborate,
work with other artists and curators.
Snehta candidates should demonstrate an interest in the local community
of Kypseli or more widely towards other communities based in the city.
We are interested in artists who are driven by a research-based and
explorative approach, and who will engage playfully and creatively with
the city.
We will take artists on board who believe in Art as a vehicle for increasing
awareness and partici- pation in the community.
The project is research based and work made from this research can be
shown in a group exhibition during their residency period. The Snehta
Athens based curator will collaborate closely with the artists and will cocurate
the final exhibition.
We ofer lodgings, a bedroom per artist and a studio per artist (for fees
see section 3.)
We ofer guidance and one-to-one support for the facilitation of each
project, including the acquisition of various resources requested whether
technical or otherwise. Artists must engage in a dialogue with the Snehta
team to request assistance.
Access to a wood workshop and a dark room.
We supply each artist with a tailored toolkit, which include sites of
possible interest, maps, art supply shops and useful contacts.
We encourage our artists to interact with other Athens-based
organisations and creative individuals. We ofer artists support to
communicate and pass their message across to these organisations and
individuals.
We encourage, and support resident artists to have an open-studio and/
or an artist led talk event at the interim stage of their residency.
The progress and work produced by each artist will be promoted on our
website and our social media platforms (Facebook/Instagram) and
through our e-newsletter.
We can support our artists with letters of recommendation for funding
applications.
We aim to foster collaborations beyond the residency, and will support
returning artists as much as we can via our network.

The Japan Media Arts Festival Executive Committee is now accepting entries for the 22nd Japan Media Arts Festival. All artists around the world, without distinction as to professional, amateur, independent, or commercial, are invited to submit their works to the four divisions Art, Entertainment, Animation, and Manga. Eligible works are completed or exhibited within a year before the deadline (October 6, 2017 – October 5, 2018).
