OPEN CALL - Mini-Residencies

20:49

Deadline: 30 April 2019

The KHB's Artist-in-Residence Programme in collaboration with the Institute for Rural Beauty (ILS) aims to research two aspects: on the one hand, it aims to research, reflect and make visible the term "minimal travelling". On the other hand, the focus will be on formats that test playing/experimenting with community. ILS invites experimental artists*, who react site-specifically in their performative/participative artistic research practice and search for an environment that they can share with others.

The competition is aimed at professionally trained or self-appointed artists* of all ages. Team applications up to 2 persons are possible, if living / working space is shared. Networking is important to us, therefore knowledge of the German language is an advantage.

What does the residency include?
Accommodation, common working area and kitchen according to kunsthallebelow.de/aufenthalte/
Arrival, food and material costs have to be paid by the artist*in.
Carpooling opportunities are supported/offered
1 common meal + campfire after the Open Hour
individual feedback discussions, site-specific inputs, support for special projects at unusual locations
3-8 artists work simultaneously on site, the exchange is supported by Open Hours and smaller thematic feedback rounds.
Invitation to "Art Open" on 8./9.6.19 and to the conference "Experimental Travels" on 10.8.2019
